About the Company

Infinite Orbits Luxembourg is the Luxembourg subsidiary of Infinite Orbits SAS (Toulouse, France), a NewSpace company founded in 2017 that now counts more than 200 colleagues across locations including Spain, Germany and the UK.

We develop in-orbit servicing solutions - from awareness, inspection, and protection of space assets to life extension and satellite servicing - built on our own Autonomous Vision-Based Solution.

IO has two generations of missions:

  • "Orbit Guard" provides Inspection and Space Situational Awareness services in GEO.

  • "Endurance" is a docking service capable of extending the life of GEO telecom satellites, by taking over AOCS takeover for 5 years.

Specifically, IO Luxembourg is focusing on the design, development, integration and testing of cutting-edge software playing a critical role in the missions as well as being responsible for Spacecraft Operations.

About the Role

We are seeking a Flight Dynamics Engineer to support the definition, design, and operational preparation of flight dynamics solutions for rendezvous, proximity operations (RPO), and docking missions. Working closely with mission operations, Guidance, Navigation and Control (GNC), and software teams, you will  support the development, validation, and maintenance of the flight dynamics systems, and operational products required to safely execute complex satellite manoeuvres.

This role spans the full mission lifecycle, from concept refinement and system design through verification, validation, operational readiness, and mission support. You will contribute to the preparation of flight dynamics products and procedures, ensuring robust and reliable support for spacecraft operations in both nominal and contingency scenarios.

Job Description

  • Define and design flight dynamics concepts, analyses, and operational strategies for RPO and docking missions.

  • Develop, configure, and validate flight dynamics software, tools, and operational products supporting mission preparation and execution.

  • Develop and verify rendezvous and docking trajectories, approach strategies, and contingency scenarios.

  • Generate, analyze, and validate spacecraft maneuver plans while assessing propulsion system performance and operational constraints.

  • Support mission analysis, simulations, rehearsals, and end-to-end operational validation campaigns.

  • Produce, maintain, and improve flight dynamics operational procedures, mission products, and technical documentation.

  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams to define mission requirements, operational concepts, and system interfaces.

  • Contribute to the verification and validation of flight dynamics algorithms, software, and operational workflows.

  • Support mission readiness reviews and provide technical expertise during mission preparation and operational execution when required.

  • Plan and monitor the delivery schedule for flight dynamics products and documentation.

Requirements

  • Self-motivated with a proactive approach, strong ownership, and attention to detail.

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related engineering or scientific discipline.

  • At least 5 years of experience in spacecraft flight dynamics, including orbit determination, trajectory design, maneuver planning, attitude analysis, and satellite navigation.

  • Experience in the definition and design of flight dynamics systems.

  • Knowledge of rendezvous, proximity operations, and docking mission design principles.

  • Familiarity with space mission operations, mission planning, or spacecraft operations concepts.

  • Experience using flight dynamics analysis tools such as GMAT, Orekit, STK, FreeFlyer, or equivalent.

  • Programming experience in Python, Java, or similar engineering languages.

  • Familiarity with Unix/Linux environments and engineering software development workflows.

  • Ability to analyze complex technical problems and develop practical engineering solutions.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary project teams.

What we offer

  • The opportunity to be part of an international team transforming the space industry.

  • A creative and innovative work environment where ideas turn into reality.

  • Competitive salary and benefits.
